Circuit City liquidation?
I stopped in a Circuit City store today to see what kind of deals can be found during their liquidation. Parking was nearly impossible and the line to check out was about 15 people deep.
The news had warned that the liquidators marked up all the prices to full retail before marking them down for the close-outs. The signs said up to 30% discount, but most things were 10-20% off. All computer stuff was 10% off and considering it was 10% off retail, it was more expensive than their competitor’s regular pricing.
I guess I don’t understand why people were standing in line to pay too much for electronics & such… Don’t they pay any attention at all? They see “Store Closing - Clearance Sale” and just assume that everything is a bargain?
